You are accepted by Jesus.
It can be nerve-racking applying for a new job. Each step of the way, you’re being judged and tested… then left in suspense to see if you’re accepted.
Sometimes the rest of life feels a bit like that too. We’re all doing our best to be accepted… but are we accepting others?
The Bible contains many stories of times when Jesus accepted people who had been rejected by society. The poor, sick and sinful were all embraced by the Son of God.
And just like them, Jesus accepts us too. His acceptance is not based on what we do, but on what he has done. We don’t have to do anything to earn it; in fact, we couldn’t even if we wanted to.
Romans 15:7 says, “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.”
God has accepted you – and he calls you and I to accept each other too.
