“Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit” ([tippy title=”Matthew 1:18, 20″ class=”myclass” showheader=”true” href=”” width=”450″ height=”300″]Matthew 1:18 The Birth of Jesus Christ
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed[b] to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 1:20
20 But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.[/tippy]).
Jesus, unlike you and me, was conceived by the Holy Spirit before his birth. The presence of the Holy Spirit inhim gave him his immortality, his wisdom, his sinlessness and power.
Jesus says that if you want to become a citizen of his kingdom, you too must be born of the Holy Spirit ([tippy title=”John 3:5″ class=”myclass” showheader=”true” href=”” width=”450″ height=”50″]5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.[/tippy]). The presence of the Spirit in you will give you immortality and wisdom, your sins will be atoned for and you shall receive divine power to combat the wiles of the devil.
God promises to give his Spirit, without cost, to all who sincerely ask him ([tippy title=”Luke 11:13″ class=”myclass” showheader=”true” href=”” width=”450″ height=”100″]13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”[/tippy]).
