Who is Your God?

Men exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator (Romans 1:25).
The “created things” that people worship are manifold. People worship nature, and claim that nature has the power to change itself through macro-evolution, by which marine creatures are said to become land creatures, and apes are said to become human beings. They worship other people, such as the Pharaohs and Caesars and Kim Jong-un of North Korea. They worship animals, such as rats and monkeys. And multitudes still worship man-made images.
Just as a river cannot rise higher than its source, so mankind cannot rise higher than its God. If you worship a monkey god, then that god will limit your full development as a human being. If monkeys rape other monkeys, then on what basis can the men who worship the monkey god be told that it is wrong for them to rape women? Can a river rise higher than its source?
Christians, however, are commanded to hallow the name of their God (Matt. 6:9). They are to exalt the name of the One who created them and died for them. He is a holy and forgiving God. He has given us his Law to guide us in our thoughts and actions, and he has put his Spirit in the hearts of all his followers so that they will live as Jesus did, always treating others, especially those who are considered to be ‘the least’ in society, with utmost respect.
One of the biggest challenges to Jesus in our time is the god called “Money” (Matt. 6:24). Many Christians have lost their souls by bowing down to this god. If this is your problem you must repent before it destroys you.
