Radio Version:
I Am Your Shield
Do not, I repeat, do not try what I am going to tell you, at home!
When I was a little kid, we lived in a unit in western Sydney. My dad put some petrol in the washing machine and turned it on. He thought it would get the clothes cleaner, but he was wrong.
Instead, there was a massive explosion that almost destroyed the unit, and both my parents ended up in hospital with serious burns.
The only reason why I wasn’t injured was because I was playing behind a big sofa, and it shielded me from the explosion.
So, I understand what God means when he says in the Bible, “I am your shield.”
Sometimes the bad stuff of life is just going to explode in your face. And you’re going to need strength and courage to get through. Remember: God has promised to be your shield. Take him up on that offer.
God has promised to be your shield.
