A Better Rest

Thank you for following along with this week’s daily devotional series on Hebrews 4:1-13, A Better Rest.

We’ve seen Israel’s tragic unbelief. We’ve heard the urgent summons of “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” We’ve learned that Joshua’s rest in the land was only temporary, pointing us forward to Jesus, the true and better Joshua. And we’ve felt the sharp edge of God’s Word, exposing our hearts – yet exposing us to grace.

Here’s the good news: the promise still stands. In Christ, rest is not a mirage, not a nap, not even just a Sabbath day. It’s eternal fellowship with the living God. The door is open today. Don’t harden your heart. Enter His better rest.

Reflection:

Father, thank You that in Christ the promise of rest still stands. Keep my heart soft, my faith steady, and my eyes fixed on Jesus until I enter Your eternal rest.
