Thank you for following along with this week’s devotional series on Hebrews 8 – A New and Better Covenant.

We’ve seen that Jesus is seated at God’s right hand – his work finished, yet still interceding for us in heaven’s true sanctuary. We’ve discovered that the earthly tabernacle was only a shadow, and Jesus ministers in the real thing. We’ve learned that Jesus mediates a better covenant established on God’s unbreakable promises. We’ve explored God’s new covenant gifts: his law written on our hearts and personal knowledge of him from the least to the greatest. And we’ve rejoiced in the foundation of it all: complete forgiveness – our sins remembered no more.

Here’s the good news: the old covenant is obsolete. Jesus has done everything necessary to bring you into God’s presence. You have a new heart, you know God personally, and your sins are forgiven forever.

Reflection

Heavenly Father, thank you for the new and better covenant in Jesus. Help me live in the reality of what you’ve promised: a new heart, personal knowledge of you, and complete forgiveness. Amen.
