How to Avoid Dead End Roads

Dead EndJoy and peace are far too often sold so cheaply in the marketplace of life where we have been duped by the mis-priced tags on the ‘goods’ that are most valuable. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.”  Prov 14:12. Naturally we all like to think that our way is the best, but things are not always what they seem. What’s really concerning in fact is that the paths that lead to destruction are many, and far too often enjoyable and alluring.

Joy and peace come when we seek God’s way in our lives and not our own. The Bible is a precious gift from God to all, for it contains the true wisdom of the infinitely wise God who invites us to seek wisdom and guidance from Him.  “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”  Rom.  8:14  “The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.” Rom 8:16

So how does the Spirit lead?  “All who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” –  for we did not receive the spirit of slavery to be moved by fear, but we have received the Spirit of adoption as sons.  The Spirit does not lead by stirring up slavish fear, but by making you a son who acts out of faith and affection for a God who has adopted us into his family through the precious blood of his son Jesus. God’s love for his children is poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit.

And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. Isa 30:21.

How precious to know that God’s presence goes before us to prepare the way for us in all circumstances of our lives. We are asked to be followers.
