Devotional Videos To Spread Gospel In Solomon Islands
Jul 8, 2022 2015
Good News Unlimited is excited to work with Pr Jeremiah in the Solomon Islands to spread the Gospel in his country. Pr Jeremiah will be creating devotional videos to share via Facebook, using GNU resources he will translate into Solomon Islands Pijin. He says,
I look forward to working closely with you guys and I believe God is going to open doors here in the Solomon Islands. I am so happy that I have this Unlimited resources to use and minister God’s Word to my people. We look forward to using all the resources available on the Good News Unlimited website to minister to our people here in the islands.
Pr Jeremiah is based in Honiara, the capital city of the Solomon Islands. He is a member of the South Sea Evangelical Church (SSEC) and has formerly served as National Mission Coordinator for SSEC and as lecturer at an Interdenominational Bible College in Honiara. He is currently serving as an itinerant preacher and teacher of the Word of God in SSEC and in a number of Pentecostal Churches.
Pr Jeremiah heard about GNU for the first time a few months ago. He says,
I first saw Dr. Eliezer Gonzalez via the GO Movement Zoom Prayer Meeting a few months ago where we introduced ourselves and shared our contact details with different members of the prayer group. Eliezer shared a link to the GNU webpage. When I went to the GNU website, I was amazed at the unlimited resources made available. As a person with some media background, I have strategically worked with a few church leaders in the Solomon Islands to fully utilize the media platform now that COVID has caused a lot of restriction to the traditional church approach and settings.
“I believe God is going to open doors here in the Solomon Islands.“
Pr Jeremiah has been using media in various ways to share the Gospel with people. Currently, he does Friday night preaching at YWAM Solomon’s Livestreaming page. He has been able to use this media to touch people’s lives even when they are unable to meet in person. God has been doing great things through this ministry. Pr Jeremiah has gotten numerous phone calls and has had conversations with men and women who have expressed their gratitude with him for his preaching there, and sharing with him how their lives have been touched.
In addition to this, he has created and managed a number of social media pages, including Islands Bible College Facebook Page, SIKOS Mission History (SSEC Mission History Page) and Kwara’ae Vernacular. He says,
The viewers of these different media platforms ranged from 1000 to 20,000. This is my current targeted audience for the videos plus other social media pages I joined as a member.
Each devotional video Pr Jeremiah makes will be five to ten minutes long. There are many illiterate people in the provinces and through this ministry the Good News can reach them in videos in their language. He says,
I am so thankful to Good News Unlimited for giving me the permission to use the Unlimited resources on your website to share with my people here in the Solomon Islands. I’m so excited and I look forward to using those resources and putting up them on social media so that my people here in the Solomon Islands can see it and even hear it. And I believe the Word of God will transform hearts and lives.
