Don’t Judge
I’ve never done much woodwork, but I’ve gotten sawdust in my eye a few times in my life
Jesus probably worked as a carpenter for most of his life. So, when he wanted to talk about something that was really annoying, he told a story about a person who has a whole plank of timber sticking out of his eye socket!
Jesus had a sense of humour!
One person meets another who has a tiny speck of sawdust in his eye. And he says to him:
Here, “let me help you get rid of that speck of sawdust in your eye” (Matt. 7:4, NLT).
Jesus told that story to teach us not to judge one another.
Every one of us is born with timber in our eye. It’s called sin, and it doesn’t let us see clearly. Remember that the next time you feel like judging someone else for their actions. And ask God to help you see clearly.
Ask God to help you see clearly.
