How Berinda’s Life Changed After The Gospel Was Preached Next Door

Berinda is a 25 year old woman living in Nsambya, Kampala, a few meters away from the venue where a GNU meeting took place early in June, 2019. She runs a small grocery stall in the nearby community market. With her small but regular income this is how she manages to support herself and her twin daughters, Mary and Anita, both in junior school.
According to her testimony, she was forced to face life as a single mother when her husband left her for another woman, who happened to be a close family friend before the affair. Since then she developed a negative attitude towards marriage and she confessed that she has had no intention of finding another man, saying that she may not survive a second heartbreak.
Berinda confessed that she would have committed suicide had it not been for the lives of her two daughters who reminded her that her life was meaningful. Apart from her daughters, Berinda had no other significant purpose in life, until she heard the Good News through GNU.

The mother of two says that she was raised by devoted Christians but she cannot tell how she fell out with the church and lost her spiritual path. However, she says that after listening to the GNU message of unlimited grace she was reminded of her childhood life, which used to be full of prayer and devotions, thanks to her late father who was a clergyman.
She says that she has realised that life after the loss of her husband would have been easier had she been in a relationship with God. For the first time in a long time, Berinda found herself sitting in the congregation and freely listening and responding to the powerful sermons that were being preached by the GNU preachers.
She even closed her shop for the next two evenings so that she could attend our meetings. She came along with her two daughters whom she also introduced to us, asking for special prayers of blessings upon their lives. Berinda says that GNU has reconnected her back to God who she used to serve so dearly when she was a child.
