How Jesus Broke Up Funerals
On one of my trips to India, I went round a corner and ended up right in the middle of a procession, with cymbals and drums, and I was shocked to discover that it was a funeral procession.
It must have been something like that when Jesus went to a little town called Nain, and ran smack-bang into a funeral. Except that Jesus did what I could never do. He raised the young man back to life and returned him to his widowed mother.
Did you know that, as far as it’s recorded, Jesus never ever attended a funeral that he didn’t break up? Actually, he turned every funeral that he attended into a party!
That’s because, he conquered death every time he faced it, and finally, once-for-all, when he rose from the dead Himself on resurrection Sunday. And the best thing of all is that he’s promised to do it for everyone who trusts in him.
As far as it’s recorded, Jesus broke up funerals every time he attended them. He conquered death every time he faced it.
