The Man Who Asked Why
Some people think that the Bible has all the answers to everything. Well, it doesn’t.
Take the story of Job. Here’s a man who suffers all kinds of personal disasters, apparently for no reason. Naturally, Job asks, “Why?” If you read the book of Job right through, you know what? There’s no answer there!
However, the book ends with God telling Job all he can handle, and all he needs to know.
What God tells Job is that he – God – is much more powerful and much more loving than anyone could ever imagine.
But you know what? We know more than Job did. We know that God has sent his Son Jesus into the world, and he has conquered death and suffering for ever.
One day soon, when the results of that great victory are fully revealed in this world, we’ll have all the answers to every question we’ve ever asked.
And until then, knowing Jesus is enough.
God is much more powerful and much more loving than anyone could ever imagine.
