Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true. — Joshua 21:45
What do you believe about the promises of God? Do you believe that some of them are for you and some aren’t? That he keeps some of them and not others? Do you fear that in some way you will be disappointed? Do you suspect that he’ll somehow leave you half-way through the journey?
We have not yet understood the depths of the goodness of God.
Think about this; God cannot partially keep his word. His is not a liar,
God is not a man, that he should lie. – Num 23:19.
Furthermore, he does not change when he has promised something to his children. God is one who,
who does not change like shifting shadows. – NIV
The apostle Paul reassures his fellow-believers (you and me) that.
All things are yours, whether… the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God. – 1 Cor 3:22–23, NIV
Where are all the promises of God fulfilled? In the Kingdom of God. When are they fulfilled? Now. Why are they fulfilled? Because Christ has won the victory and all power is in his hand. And the rock-solid, eternal guarantee of that power are the scars in the hands of the One lives forever.
We live in the kingdom now if we have believed in the name of Jesus Christ. This is a kingdom that is yet to be fully realised as the kingdom of glory. So we rejoice in the promises, not one of them will fail… and wait for the kingdom of glory.
All things are yours… if you belong to Christ.
