Sewing Classes Give Hope To Unemployed Women – Moturu, India
Apr 26, 2018 9020
Sewing machine classes have started in the village of Moturu, India, as a way of teaching the village’s unemployed women a skill so they can provide for themselves.
Pr Joseph first started preaching the Gospel in Moturu in 2012. He and his evangelism team have travelled to Moturu many times since then, feeding the poor, giving medical attention to the sick, and sharing the Gospel. More recently, the Good News Retreat Centre has been built as a place to preach the Good News and the Moturu Children Centre has opened.
Pr Joseph noticed that in the village there were many women who were unemployed, and had no way to provide for themselves. So he started sewing machine classes, and appointed a teacher, so the women of the village could learn a skill that could help them support themselves financially.
For the first time they are experiencing Jesus’ love
The classes have been a great help to these women and they are very happy and grateful. Several Hindu women, who haven’t heard about the Gospel through GNU’s other activities in the village, are attending. For the first time they are experiencing Jesus’ love through the love his followers are showing to them through providing these classes.
Sandy, one of the women who is learning to sew, says,
This is great work and it is wonderful to learn to sew. This will be great for our future life and will help us generate a daily income. We all are so happy and thankful to God for providing a way for us to learn through these classes. And thank you to Pr Joseph.
