Sharing School Supplies, Sharing God’s Love - Kalvapudi Angraharam, India

The children line up to receive school books.

Pr Joseph and the evangelism team in India went to the village of Kalvapudi Angraharam to help the poorest of society’s poor children in need of school supplies. As a result a whole community came to experience the love of Jesus.

The village of Kalvapudi Angraharam is remote and the people who live there are among the poorest of the poor in society. The Indian Government started a school in the village, however, due to lack of continued government support, the school was lacking many essential supplies. This included things as basic as books and bags. Neither the school nor the parents were able to afford to buy these things for the children.

There are 35 children in the village. It is a village with a large Hindu population, but there are also some Christian families that live there. Because their school was lacking the supplies to give them a proper education, some of the Christian children began praying that their school’s needs would be met.

It was an answer to their prayer when Pr Joseph and the evangelism team came to their village to share the Gospel and give them with the much-needed supplies for their school. This gift was met with deep gratitude from the children, the community and the school’s two teachers, both of which were Hindu.

While they were in the village, they also shared the Good News and prayed for the people who lived there. The Kalvapudi Angraharam residents wanted to learn more about Jesus after experiencing the love showed by his followers. Pr Joseph writes,

All the children and teachers and local people who are Hindu by birth are very happy and so glad. Even Hindu children are so happy and they have heard about Jesus. So it is a great thing that in the mighty, Holy name of Jesus we did it.

The Hindu people starting thinking about how it is in the name of Jesus that we are doing this service. They started thinking that it is so amazing and that Jesus is the real God who loves everyone. So the Hindu people in the village want to know more about the Holy Gospel and the preaching of Jesus. Thanks to you all for providing all these school needs for the children.
