Shut Down the Bad Angel
The idea of having a good angel on one shoulder and a bad angel on another is a common one in popular culture. Donald Duck had them, so did Homer Simpson, and in a way, so do you!
There’s a “bad” version of you that’s always doubting, reminding you of your failures, and just generally putting you down.
But God tells us that we need to tune in to a “better word.” And here it is:
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. (Romans 8:1–2)
When you are in Christ, you are counted as blameless, you are at peace with God, and he treats you as royalty in his family. So never forget that, and shut down your inner critic!
Shut down the bad angel because when you are in Christ, you are counted as blameless.
