The Best Motivation
When I was around twelve years old, I was walking home from school, when I had to cross a big, secluded oval that was surrounded by a white picket fence.
I walked past the only person there – a man who was leaning against the fence – and I noticed that he eyed me off as I went past. Then he started chasing me. I ran as fast as I could.
I don’t even remember how I jumped the oval fence, but I know that I did, with the greatest of ease. Somehow, it was fear that did it.
Of course, we know that the most powerful motivation isn’t fear. The greatest motivation you can have is to really know how much God loves you. That day I told you about, fear turned a wimp like me into an athlete. But only the love of God can turn a sinner into a saint.
Only the love of God can turn a sinner into a saint.
