The Cold Water Factor

“We have different gifts according to the grace given us” (Rom. 12:6).
In my church there are people who have the gift of proclaiming God’s word, there are others who are teachers, others who have the gift of music, others who excel in management or hospitality, and others who are encouragers, and many more. We minister these gifts according to the grace given us by the Lord.
Remember the story told by Jesus about the widow who gave the only coin she had. Jesus also said, “if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.” Everyone has something of value to share with the world, something meaningful to give to others.
Those who serve with the greatest distinction do so not because of their natural ability but because of the abundant grace bestowed on them by the Lord.
