Radio Version:
Unbreakable
When I was a kid I thought I was unbreakable. I’d climb trees, jump from high places, and roll around in the dirt wrestling with friends.
There comes a point in life when you realise that you’re not unbreakable – you’re never unbreakable on your own… and that’s why you’ll always need the forgiving grace of God.
The eleventh chapter of Hebrews is like a showcase of God’s great heroes. It’s a pretty famous list – people like Abraham, Moses, and David.
These people knew what it was like to fall flat on their faces time and time again. But the Bible puts them up in lights as examples of great faith.
You see, it’s not sinless people who are examples of faith, but sinful people who in spite of their failures still allowed God to pick them up in his mercy and grace. The only way to be unbreakable is to trust in Jesus, the only one who really is unbreakable.
It’s not sinless people who are examples of faith, but sinful people who in spite of their failures still allowed God to pick them up in his mercy and grace.
