Unlimited: Christ’s Ever-Present Love

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? (Romans 8:35a).
This question comes just after Paul has pointed out that the sins of God’s children cannot separate us from God, because we have been justified through the saving death and resurrection of Christ.
The enemy of our souls is always trying to speak into our hearts to tell us that we are far from God, so that he cannot hear us or bless us. He tells us that our sins have separated us from God, that we are unworthy and unacceptable. That would be true were we without Christ. But for those who belong to Jesus, it is a lie. There is nothing, and no one, who can separate us from the love of Christ.
God has revealed a righteousness through Jesus Christ that entirely by-passes our performance and the law as means of being made right with him. We are justified with God through the death and resurrection of Jesus alone.
While we may at times fail Christ, his love for us will never fail.
As long as we trust Jesus for our righteousness we will never be disappointed. We will always be right with God. This is true for those who love him (v.28), who trust him as his children (v.15). While we may at times fail Christ, his love for us will never fail. This is the greatest truth, which will sustain us through the greatest challenges of life.
