Unlimited: Do Not Be Arrogant
Jun 1, 2023 693
Do not be arrogant, but tremble. For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either (Romans 11:20b–21).
Paul admonishes the Gentile believers not to be arrogant toward the Jews, because God will treat the Gentiles in precisely the same way.
Unfortunately, during history, we can see many shameful examples in which Christians have not followed the Bible’s instruction on this, and their attitude towards the Jewish people has been not only arrogant, but cruel and vicious.
The apostle Paul tells Christians with these attitudes that they should tremble instead of being arrogant. The Jews, who were the “natural branches” were not spared. Paul’s argument is that if it could happen to the Jews, it could happen to the Gentiles also. As Peter had said,
…how true it is that God does not show favoritism (Acts 10:34.)
We must not be arrogant towards others who profess a belief in God.
The principle here goes beyond Christians and Jews. More broadly, if we belong to one Christian group, we must not be arrogant towards other people in a different Christian group. We must not be arrogant towards others who profess a belief in God.
This reminds us of the episode in the ministry of Jesus when the disciple John complained to Jesus that someone was driving out demons in his name, although he wasn’t part of their “group.” Jesus told John not to stop them, and that such people were not against Jesus and his work, but for it. (Luke 9:38–40.)
Spiritual Application
It’s very easy to be arrogant in relation to other believers in God who may not belong to your own group. Have you ever been tempted in this area? How have you dealt with it?
It actually pays never to be arrogant in any sphere of your Life. If you are submissive, God almighty will make you a Light which will shine for non-believers. Thanks for the word.
Thanks for the light. Many Christian today are engaged in such attitudes which professes no love reverence and by so doing such, judgement awaits. I love this message. May God bless you Papa.

Yes to be arrogant, it makes you not to be teachable. But to be faithful and calm helps to learn more. Thank you Dad
