Unlimited: Everyone Deserted Him

Then everyone deserted him and fled (Mark 14:50, NIV).
Jesus was arrested in Gethsemane.
Peter made a futile gesture of defiance by attacking the servant of the high priest with his sword.
However, instead of supporting Peter, Jesus makes it clear that he isn’t going to resist.
How will the disciples react now?
It must have been a shocking and terrifying event for the disciples. They had been peacefully sleeping. And suddenly their rest was interrupted by the torchlight, and the sounds of an angry mob.
The flight or fight reflex took over. And the flight reflex won.
Jesus didn’t want his disciples to fight for him with swords or clubs. He wanted them to fight for him by staying as close to him as possible. This was his hour of need, and Jesus needed them.
Despite the horror of it all, what a blessing it would have been if they had all been with John and witnessed the most important moment, not just of their lives, but of all of history! What a blessing it would have been for them to have heard the words of Jesus from the Cross. But they all deserted him and fled.
And no wonder. It could be them next!
All of the disciples had insisted that even if they had to die with him, they would never abandon Jesus. Yet they all did.

Eli’s Reflection: Reflect on your life. Have you had some experience in this area? What is the best advice you could give a young Christian who is tempted to abandon Jesus? Our hearts are prone to wander. Seek God’s Word daily and surround yourself with other Christians who walk closely with our Lord.
May God help us by His grace
This is a great reminder and encouragement
Brother, recommendation is right on target. ""Our hearts are prone to wander. Seek God’s Word daily and surround yourself with other Christians who walk closely with our Lord."" VERY well said. Thank you.
I say I am so bless to have Jesus Christ in my life today tomorrow to night and always Jesus is so wonderful and I am truly blessed to call his holy wonderful name amen
I SAY I AM SO HAPPY I KNOW JESUS

Jesus is the bread of life, he is ready to help therefore the devil also is ready to attack his followers, therefore when there are hardships there is no need for withdrawal There is the need for persistent.
