Unlimited: Jesus Explains the Parables to His Disciples
Mar 19, 2024 3314

He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything (Mark 4:30–32, NIV).
Jesus spoke differently to the crowds who came to hear him publicly than to his disciples in private.
With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand. Jesus is kind to us, and he leads us like a good earthly father leads his little children. He takes us by the hand and leads us patiently and gently.
When Jesus taught people, he only ever told them what they could understand. He knew that his disciples could understand more than the rest, so he explained the parables to them clearly, and spoke as plainly as he could.
But Jesus knew that the other people couldn’t understand as deeply as the disciples, so he only spoke in parables to them. That way that would be able to understand as much as they could, and be blessed.
The disciples were closer to Jesus so he could tell them more. The closer you are to him, the more he’ll be able to share with you.
Are you ready to know more about Jesus’ will for your life?

Eli’s Reflection: If you want to know Jesus more, then you need to surrender more. Set aside this week to pray in a special way, telling Jesus that you want to surrender fully to him. Ask him to reveal his will to you, whatever it might be. Are you brave enough? Be prepared for some surprises.
I really need to know his will for my life because I am fedup with the whole thing,I have tried so many things to make marriage work but it get worst instead,I have prayed, fasted even praise but it seems all his not working what more can I do? I am tired no one to trust and talk to,I am loosing it all.

Biodun - My heart breaks for you. Ultimately, we must all learn to "let go and let God" and to find out joy in him. Nothing else will satisfy us in this world.
