Unlimited: Justified Freely by His Grace
Jun 20, 2022 957
…and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus (Romans 3:24).
This is the second reason that Paul gives us for why there is no difference between Jew and Gentile before God. The first reason was bad news: they have all sinned alike and fall short of the glory of God. This second reason is really Good News! We are all justified as a gift by the grace of God, through the salvation that Jesus has provided.
It is important to see from Paul’s words here that he doesn’t see two different ways that people are saved: one way for the Jews and one way for the Gentiles. Let me make it clearer: There is not one covenant by which Jews are saved and another by which Gentiles are saved. As Paul says, we are “all justified freely by his grace through… Christ Jesus.”
We are all justified as a gift by the grace of God, through the salvation that Jesus has provided.
We like to make distinctions between people, and to treat different kinds of people differently. But when God looks at the world, he sees us all the same. There is no difference. He sees us all as people who need salvation, and he sees us all as those whom he has freely justified by his grace through Jesus. The only thing that makes a difference between us is the question: Have you accepted the gift of God?
Spiritual Application
We need to start seeing others through the eyes of God. Think about those around you. Is there someone whom you know you need to start seeing through God’s eyes. Pray that God may bless you in this way.
