When You’ve Done All You Can
In the 2002 Winter Olympics, Australian Steven Bradbury won the 1,000 metres speed skating event when all of his opponents literally fell over. He was the last man standing!
He had been coming last. He could have given up.
So, what do you do when you’ve done everything you can, and you feel like you are losing at life.
Well, the Bible comes to the rescue with this gem from the apostle Paul. He says
…put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Did you notice? “…after you have done everything… [just] stand.”
You stay on your feet. You hang in there. You don’t take a step back. You get through it. You survive. That’s how you win in the end.
Remember: When you know you are loved and accepted by God, nothing can tear you down.
