Radio Version:
You’ll Never Outgrow the Cross
I grew up in Sydney, and when I was a kid, we used to go to Bronte Beach, just south of Bondi.
There was this rock platform there that seemed to have angles and straight lines cut into it. I was convinced it had been built by aliens from outer space. Yeah, at the time, I was right into books about extraterrestrial civilisations and little green aliens visiting planet earth.
I’ve grown out of that now.
Some people think that the Christian faith is like that. Like it was a phase we went through in history, but now we’re all grown up and we don’t believe in that stuff anymore.
Some people think they’ve outgrown the Cross.
If you’ve found the secret of happiness and peace and eternal life all by yourself, then perhaps you might have outgrown the Cross. But that will never happen. You’ll never outgrow the Cross.
You’ll never find the secret of happiness and peace and eternal life all by yourself.
