Your Genealogy
Among my ancestors, I’m proud to have a countess. But I’m not so proud about my ancestor who led a gang of train robbers, and who was shot on the job while robbing passengers.
But you know, Jesus is proud of all his family!
You might be surprised that Jesus wasn’t born a Christian as such; instead he was a Jew. And Jews were very proud of showing off their ancestors in their genealogies. They would actually leave off any black sheep in the family, if you know what I mean.
We all have them, those black sheep, and Jesus did too. But in his genealogy in the New Testament, he’s proud of all his family, including those who came from the wrong side of the tracks. And he wants to make you part of his family.
Remember: If you’ve chosen to be part of Jesus’ family, he’s really proud of you too, no matter who you are!
Jesus is proud of all his family.
