A Kingdom Of Abundance

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that believes on me shall never thirst –John 6:35.

We live in a world of endless hunger and thirst: Human want and need is a cycle that constantly turns over itself. Even on our deathbed, we still wish that we could live another second, hour, day, month and the sequence of desire is endless.

If you are not thirsty for power, then you are hungry for wealth; if you are not hungry for pleasure then you crave success. The trap of falling into this cycle is that we never become satisfied.

Such was the situation with the multitude in John 6. Jesus confronted those who were seeking him for mere food. The Son of God did not come to give us temporary solutions. He came to give everlasting life because he is the bread of life.

When we seek God’s kingdom above all else, our earthly needs will be met, so we have nothing to worry about (Matthew 6:33). Even more, by following Him and believing in Him, we are ushered into a kingdom of eternal abundance.
