If God was more like human beings, he would have obliterated the world a long time ago, and us with it. How ready we are to dismiss those who disappoint us. How easily we give up on those who are rude, lazy, hurtful and anti-social. Sometimes we even use our prayers in an attempt to persuade God to rid us of certain people. If we wonder why God hasn’t exterminated all the bad people yet, it might help if we remember that the annihilation of troublemakers is the last thing God wants to do. Furthermore, we should rejoice in the thought that the presence in the world of even a very few who love and serve God, is a very good thing for those who do not.
