The midwives however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt told them to do; they let the boys live.
In a land ruled by a king whose egomaniacal propensities stood un-denied and unchallenged; a realm where the weak were exploited and dissenters eliminated, there lived women who believed themselves accountable to a higher authority than Pharoah. Were it not for their civil disobedience Moses, Israel’s deliverer, would not have been born. In today’s world kingdom, where the secular and material gods strut and swagger, God has his servants, and his people are blessed because of them.
