“No one after drinking the old wine wants the new, for he says, ‘The old is better’” (Luke 5:39).

People prefer the old ways to the new and the old teachings to the new. With Jesus, however, the old ways and the old teachings had to give way to his new ways and new teachings simply because the old ways and the old teachings had been corrupted by man so that they no longer pointed to his sacrifice on the cross as the only way of salvation.

Those who cling to the old, therefore, have no future and no hope. Jesus’ new wine alone offers the blessings of eternity to all who gladly drink it.
