As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease (Genesis 8:2).
Once the world was not. Science now knows what faith knew beforehand—that the universe had a beginning. The earth as a biosystem ‘endures’ reliably on its life-giving, life-sustaining way, not because it is eternally self-sustaining, but because it is backed by a supernatural intention to preserve humans and cause them to thrive. God cares for us.
