Daily Good News – Jesus’ Perspective on Life

Jun 5, 2015 1134

“Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. Yet when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days” (John 11:5-6).

That is a strange love. Jesus professed to love Lazarus who was dying, and his sisters who were grieving over his fast failing life, yet he did nothing to change their circumstances. He did this because he had something better for them.

And so it is with us. A dying person who is healed has to face death sometime in the future—it is a fact of this world that we all die. But that is not the end, for when Jesus raises that person from the dead at his coming, he or she is raised up to eternal youth in an imperishable body. Jesus’ perspective on our finite life is different because he has provided us the path to eternal life. That is the beginning of real life in God.
