Unlimited: Gathering the Leftovers
Apr 16, 2024 2061
They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand (Mark 6:42-44, NIV).
After Jesus miraculously provided bread and fish for the large crowd, you might think that the story ended there. But it didn’t.
There was still another important lesson to be learnt.
When Jesus provides, you will be satisfied.
But Jesus never provides just enough! Oh no! He provides an overflowing abundance of blessings for your life.
From five small loaves of bread and five fish, after thousands of people had eaten, there were twelve full baskets of leftovers. And these weren’t small baskets either!
We often focus on the feeding of the five thousand and not on what was left over.
We do the same things in our lives as well. We are often so fixated on what has happened, good or bad, that we forget about what remains.
And this is especially for the losses that we suffer.
Jesus wants us to see the blessings in what remains, and to be grateful for them.

Eli’s Reflection: Is there an experience in your life that has marked you, and from which you need to move on? You can experience loss and hardship while also pursuing Jesus. You can have joy and peace. You are not defined by your pain. Think about the blessings that remain, and be grateful for them.
He has everlasting love and Mercy.
God is so good. And His mercies are new every morning. Thankyou Lord

I have the evidence that the Lords blessing is overflowing in that He provides me with all I request and in His response He provides them, and in addition provides what I never requested but needful and all in abundance.
