Unlimited: God Hears Your Faintest Call

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered (Joel 2:32, KJV).

Why do I not call on His name? Why do I run to my neighbour, when God is so near and will hear my faintest call?

Why do I sit down and devise schemes and invent plans instead of taking myself and my burden to the Lord? Wouldn’t it be better to go straight to the living God? I will not find deliverance anywhere else; but with God I shall find it; for he is certain to help me.

I need not ask whether I may call on Him or not, for that word “whosoever” is a very wide and comprehensive one. ‘Whosoever’ means me, for it means anybody and everybody who calls upon God. I will therefore follow the leading of the text and at once call upon the glorious Lord who had made so large a promise.

My case is urgent, and I do not see how I am to be delivered; but this is no problem. God, who makes this promise, will find out ways and means of keeping it. I must simply obey His commands; I cannot tell God what to do. I am His servant, not His lawyer. I call upon Him, and He will deliver me. – Charles Spurgeon

Eli’s Reflection: From what do you need deliverance right now? Be honest. Call on the name of the Lord for deliverance, claim the promise of Joel 2:32. Make a note in your prayer journal or diary. Tomorrow, make a note about how God delivered you, and don’t forget to thank him!
