Unlimited: Keep Your Eyes on The Mountain
Feb 8, 2022 1313
Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2, NIV).
In The Great House of God, Max Lucado tells the story of a sociologist who “accompanied a group of mountain climbers on an expedition. Among other things, he observed a direct correlation between cloud cover and contentment. When there was no cloud cover and the peak was in view, the climbers were energetic and cooperative. When the grey clouds eclipsed the view of the mountaintop, though, the climbers were sullen and selfish.”
The same thing can happen to us. As long as our eyes are on the mountain that God has provided, there’s a bounce in our step and light in our eye. The question is, what is the mountain that God has provided? In fact, the Kingdom of God is based upon a mountain.
Keep your eyes on the top of the mountain, for it is Jesus who is there.
God provided a mountain for Abraham: the mount of sacrifice – Mt Moriah. God provided a mountain on which David could offer sacrifice – the same place. It was there that Solomon built the temple. And it was on that same rocky hill that our Lord and Saviour was crucified.
Keep your eyes on the top of the mountain, for it is Jesus who is there (Hebrews 12:2). Everything that obscures it is just a cloud.
To deal with a mountain of sin, God has provided an even bigger mountain of grace. – Eliezer Gonzalez
Reflection: What do you do in your life to keep your eyes on the top of the mountain? What can you do, starting today, to stop being distracted by the clouds?
Make an interesting reading with wisdom. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom
The Lord is my strength and though Christ who strengthens me I will continue to move forward to keep my eyes on the mountain top I'm so sure that Jesus is right there by my side amen thank you Lord for every step of the way amen

This is a good piece. For me to keep focusing on the mountain of GOD, I need GOD'S Grace to carry on so as not to be distracted. The Grace of GOD is sufficient for me to forge ahead.
