Unlimited: Praise from God
Aug 19, 2022 1107
Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God (Rom. 2:29b.)
We all like to receive praise. However, the source from which you seek praise is an important matter in life.
The apostle John says that the Pharisees would not acknowledge Jesus because,
…they loved human praise more than praise from God (John 12:43.)
This is the choice: will we receive praise from other people or from God?
In Romans 2:29, the Bible tells us where we need to learn to get our praise:
…a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people (NLT.)
When you derive your identity and praise from God, you’ll be able to get through the most challenging moments of life.
Paul will later write to the church in Galatians,
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ (Gal. 1:10.)
We often strive to receive praise from other people in order to be accepted by them. While it is good to seek to do right, the motivation of earning God’s acceptance is entirely wrong.
God already loves you. He demonstrated that through Jesus. When you derive your identity and praise from God, you’ll be able to get through the most challenging moments of life.
Spiritual Application:
When you learn to get your praise from God, you’ll learn to trust in what he thinks more than what others think. Is that the reality of your life?
O God, give me the strength to fully put all my trust and faith in Jesus, Lord Jesus I really needed your peace, please grant unto me through Christ our Lord, Ameeeeeeen
