“The seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a good crop” (Luke 8:15).

According to Jesus there are three steps to becoming a person “with a noble and good heart.”

1. The first step is to hear God’s word. To hear God’s word you need to spend time with God’s word every day. For God’s word to bear fruit in your life it must first get into your mind and heart as seed gets rooted ingood soil.
2. The second step is to retain the word. This can only be done by developing a good root system by means of in-depth Bible study. The word must enter your inner being.
3. Thirdly, a good crop will be the result if you don’t give up. Do as Winston Churchill once said, “Never, never, never, never, never, give up.”
