Daily Good News – 12 February

“A voice came from the cloud saying, ‘This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.’ When the voice had spoken, they found Jesus was alone” (Luke 9:35-36).
Peter, thunderstruck by the “glorious splendor” of Moses and Elijah, and the transfiguration of Jesus, suggested that they build three tabernacles, one each for Moses, Elijah and Jesus.
While Peter was still speaking a cloud swept over the mountain enveloping them, and a voice told Peter that he was to keep his eyes and ears on Jesus and Jesus alone. “When the voice had spoken, they found Jesus was alone.”
The great men of the past and the present are only men. Jesus alone is to be our leader, teacher and Saviour.
