“They said to the woman, ‘We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Saviour of the world’” (John 4:42).

It’s great to listen to preaching about Christ, and to read what other people think about him.

But there should always be a transition from what other people tell us about Christ, to what Christ himself has to say to us through his word. Our faith must ultimately be based on what Jesus himself reveals to us.

So read Jesus’ words, and let them speak to you. Then you will also be certain that Jesus is not only the Saviour of the world, but your Saviour as well.
