“For this is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Someday people will again own property here in this land and will buy and sell houses and vineyards and fields'” (Jeremiah 32:15).

Jeremiah 32 describes a time when things were very bleak for Jeremiah and those who loved God. The Babylonian army was besieging the city of Jerusalem, no help was coming and the city was about to fall. Jeremiah was in prison, and God wanted him to buy his cousin’s field! Surely it was crazy!

But God saw things differently. “Don’t worry”, he told Jeremiah. “You will have your reward and I will bless my people.” And God reminds Jeremiah of the most important fact: “I am the Lord, the God of all living things! Is anything too hard for me?”

So it is with the gospel. There will be times in your life when everything seems too hard for you, when you feel that you are besieged by the forces of darkness and oppressed by the guilt of your sins, and when your life is doomed. It is then that you need to remember that there is someone who has already invested in you – Jesus Christ at Calvary. Jesus bought the field of your life and paid the price with his blood.

Believe the truth of this great transaction and accept it for your life.
