Daily Good News – How Safe is Safe?

“This is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day” (John 6:39).

When Jesus says you’re safe, that’s really safety. It is God’s will that Jesus should not lose you. Not even death in this world can separate you from Jesus Christ. That’s real safety!

Once again, Jesus confidently claims his place beside God, his father. God has sent him to this earth to save his people. This is their agreement, their covenant of grace for a sinful world. The redeemed life is different, more secure, and with vastly more meaning. This spiritual meaning is based on a person’s relationship with God through Jesus. Here, you have rest, satisfied hunger and purpose.

So when you commit yourself to being one of Jesus’ flock, the loving Shepherd promises to look after you in this world, and to raise you up to eternal life in the world to come. What more could you wish for?
