Your Greatest Achievement

Your Greatest Achievement

As I was growing up, I was inspired by the biographies of great men and women who changed the world through their discoveries, inventions, and contributions to humanity. I had dreams of achieving great things in my life, and of making a real difference to humanity in some way. I’m sure you had your own dreams as a child. It hasn’t quite ended up the way I thought.

However, I’m still someone who really wants to be successful in life. I’m often frustrated by the limitations that money, time, and health place upon our ability to achieve. No matter what I do, I always want more! It’s not that my aim in life is to become a billionaire; far from it. My goal in life is to make a massive impact for what really matters: the Kingdom of God.

When I am troubled about something, I pray about it. As I prayed about this the other day, if was as if God was saying to me, “What more do you want to achieve?

As all the things that I had achieved passed through my mind, I realised that there were so many wonderful things that the Lord had achieved in my life, but to which I gave little importance. Still, I wanted more.

An endless eternity of glorious achievement lies ahead of you.

And then it was as if the Lord said to me, “Do you want to know what the greatest achievement is in your life? In any person’s life? Here it is: the greatest achievement you can have is to have accepted the salvation that Jesus Christ offers to you.”

The most successful person on earth is the one who has accepted salvation through Christ, and who, as a result, has been born again. Does this sound too simple for you?

But it’s the truth. Believe in Jesus Christ and accept the eternal life that he offers you. Then God will start to work out his will in your life throughout eternity, and a never-ending stream of magnificent achievement awaits you.

We only feel the pressure to achieve because of our mortality. But if you have accepted the sacrifice of Jesus on your behalf, then you have eternal life (John 3:16). What more then, could you ever wish to achieve?

An endless eternity of glorious achievement lies ahead of you. You don’t have to be anxious about tomorrow, or about anything in this life at all. If you’ve accepted Jesus as your friend, it’s never the end of the road.
