Your true home is always in the House of God.
A funny thing happened to me the first time I visited Spain. I was in my late teens and I’d grown up in Australia. Although my parents were Spanish, I was as Aussie as.
But when the plane landed in Spain, I looked out and such an overwhelming feeling washed over me – I’ll never be able to explain it – a feeling that I was coming home!
It reminds me of the story of Jacob in the Bible. He’d run away from home and his life had completely unravelled. He didn’t even know who he was any more.
That’s when God told Jacob to go back to a place called Bethel, which means “The House of God.” It was the place where many years ago Jacob had first met God.
You see, to be able to go forward into his future, Jacob had to go back to his past.
Where’s your true home? Remember: It’s always in the House of God.
