Count What Remains
Too often we measure our lives by what we lack rather than by what we have. Do you remember the story about Jesus doing the opposite?
He miraculously fed 5,000 people by multiplying the five loaves and two fish. After everyone had eaten, Jesus told them to collect and count what was left over. When they did, they found there were twelve baskets full.
What remained was still a huge abundance of blessing – enough for another feast!
What’s happened in your life recently? Perhaps something wonderful? Perhaps a really difficult time? Count what remains. You’ll always find an abundance of the blessings of the Kingdom of God.
The apostle Paul says,
All things are yours, whether… the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God (1 Cor 3:21–23, NIV).
Now, that’s a lot to count!
Count what remains and you’ll always find an abundance of the blessings of the Kingdom of God.
