“He who is pregnant with evil and conceives trouble gives birth to disillusionment. He who digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit he made made” (Psalm 7:14,15).
The disingenuousness of evil is such that it always oversells itself, and it never fails to find subjects who are willing to buy. Eve is not the only one of our kind who has allowed themselves to be entranced by wrong. Sucked in by its bonhomie and optimism we enter into a relationship which we expect will give birth to rewarding experiences. But we are swindled. We learn too late that evil is a liar—and we are fools.
