Jesus said, “I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is completed!” (Luke 12:49-50).

The fire that will come upon the earth at the last day will consume sin entirely (2 Pet. 3:9-13). But, before that day, Jesus had first to undergo a baptism of fire to atone for the sins of all the truly repentant.

If you choose to accept his death on your behalf, you will not be condemned in the final judgement. You will be saved from God’s wrath against sin through him (Rom. 5:9).
