Daily Good News – 12 January

“There were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks by night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them” (Luke 2:8-9).

It was not to the mighty that the message of God’s coming to earth as a man was told, but to the lowly. It was not to those who had their own theories about how God would come and elevate them over their earthly enemies, but to those who were open to what God would do in harmony with his own plan for our salvation.
