“Jesus said, ‘I know my sheep. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand’” (John 10:28).

Jesus knows his people—his ‘sheep’—because they have accepted his greatest gift. They acknowledge him as their Saviour and their great shepherd.

Several times in John’s Gospel Jesus asserts that we are secure in his hands. If we entrust our lives to him we will never be disappointed. We shall be given eternal life and will never perish. That kind of security can’t be found anywhere else in this world. Banks can’t give it to you, doctors can’t give it to you, and your country can’t give it to you. You can’t create it for yourself and you can’t buy it. But Jesus can give it to you as a free gift, so put your trust in him. He won’t let you down.
