Daily Good News – Seeing with Your Mind and Heart

“My Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:40).
‘Looking’ in this context is not just physical sight, this is more than knowing about Jesus and the gospel; looking means seeing him with the eye of faith as the Son of God, the Messiah and the Saviour of the world. It means trusting in him for righteousness, life, and happiness.
The Spirit of God opens blind eyes, so we can see Christ, and receive righteousness, peace, pardon, cleansing, wisdom, strength, grace, life, and salvation. The other thing that happens is that we are truly safe. “Christ brings us to the haven beyond which there is no danger.”
The promise of eternal life in Christ’s coming kingdom is yours if you put your faith in Jesus and continually look to him for guidance and help in your daily life. To cling to Jesus is to cling to eternal life.
